California Visit

Hello!  It has been awhile since I last blogged so I have a lot of pictures of Jackson to show off.  It has been a busy couple of weeks visiting California as well as a visit from Grandma G.

This past week Jackson and I flew to California to visit my family and friends.  It was a short and very last minute trip but we needed to get out of the cold and thaw out a bit.  We took Jackson to the beach, bbq'd a lot and hung out with nana, papa, Auntie Boots, Uncle Leroy and cousins James and Leah.  Jackson played in the sand with his cousins and enjoyed his first swim in the pool.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today was the nicest day we have had since we moved here- 60 degrees!  Jackson and I took a long walk around our neighborhood and took some pictures along the way.  The snow is melting and it looks like Spring is on the way.  Yeah!

It's not a four-leaf clover, but pretty close

Snowshoeing with Grandma

This was a couple of weeks ago when Ian's parents came to visit.  We have walking trails around our house that people have converted into snowshoe trails so luckily we just stepped out our front door for a great day of snowshoeing.  We decided to get adventurous and ended up forming our own trails with snow up to our waists!  Jackson seemed to enjoy it too, nestled up against his warm daddy.

This is in our front yard.  Snow up to our shoulders.

You can tell Jackson was a little chilly by the color of his little cheeks!

4 months and rolling along....

I changed my blog design to oranges because I miss home and it reminds me of the orchards at my parent's house....Good news though we will be back in So Cal for a visit in early June.  Can't wait!  Ian is going to run the San Diego marathon June 5th to qualify for the Boston marathon April 2012.  The Boston marathon is something he has always wanted to do and it's easy now that we are so close.  We will keep you posted on the results.  The rest of the trip we plan on visiting friends and family and relaxing in the sunshine.

We haven't had as much snow lately, which is a nice change.  It's funny how a sunny day here can really make you so incredibly happy.  Jackson is 4 months now and jabbering, rolling over and smiling a lot.  We have fun taking him out and about.  He loves smiling at people and looking around....he especially gets a lot of attention in his bear suit!  He just had his 4 month appointment and is now 15 pounds and 26.5 inches.

Here is a video of Jackson rolling over from his back to tummy for the first time.  It gets cut short because I got a little too excited!!!

This video just cracks me up....

Today Jackson is 4 months old!  Another big milestone was watching him roll over from back to front today.

Boston

We have had so much snow lately that we haven't been out and about as much as usual.  We visited Boston this last weekend, which was the first time for me.  I loved it.  We walked from downtown to Boston Common and through Little Italy.  It was a chilly day but we ducked into cute cafes and enjoyed a lot of great coffee and cannoli!

Our cannoli and boston cream pies...yum!
